Learning a skill or hobby is extremely beneficial in establishing new neural pathways.  The main objective is to find an activity that allows a person to enter the “flow state.”  A state where the body, mind, and spirit are 100% engaged in the present moment.  We offer a wide range of options led by passionate mentors and coaches.  Clients are highly encouraged to try something fresh and challenging.  Through active sober living, residents become integrated into life with healthy habits and enthusiasm.

Yoga / Mindfullness

Yoga is a powerful tool for people who are recovering from alcoholism or addiction. It involves mindfulness, deep breathing, and gentle movements.  The  word Yoga literally means “Union,” and the practice helps heal and connect the mind, body, and soul.  2 classes are taught in the home each week.

Surfing / Swimming

The ocean has an amazing ability to enhance the human life experience.  The act of riding waves, swimming, or simply wading in Bali’s clean waters always leaves one feeling energized and at peace.  With so many beautiful beaches close to the house, the options are endless for ocean activities

Golf / Archery

Playing golf has many benefits for those in recovery.  Simply being outside in the open natural spaces and having a goal to focus on trains the mind to focus and stay in the moment.  Many new players find the game challenging but extremely rewarding and exciting.  We have clubs for you to use. 

ATV Adventures

Riding 4 wheelers in the jungle of Ubud is a favorite among clients and staff.  Being in nature and having the freedom to explore under a guided tour is a once in a lifetime experience.  A 1 hour drive from the house, ATV adventures are a sure way to get the dopamine going and bond with other residents.

Gym / Group Classes

Many residents love to attend group fitness classes.  Being part of a team with a mutual goal is inspiring and motivating.  Every day there is at least a dozen classes to choose from within walking distance from the house.

Art / Painting

To be creative in any form of expression is the goal.  Grab a paint brush or a marker and go to town 🙂

Hiking

Bali has many beautiful mountains and trails to explore.  The simple act of accomplishing a goal is very powerful for one’s personal recovery.  Group hikes, even overnight trips, are popular among Sober Living Bali residents.
